Hyperliquid Brings Manual Spot Borrowing to Its Platform
Hyperliquid has introduced manual spot borrowing to its platform, allowing users to borrow stablecoins against collateral positions that include HYPE and Bitcoin. The feature is integrated into HyperCore, the network's native trading infrastructure.
This move marks a significant expansion of Hyperliquid's capabilities, moving beyond perpetual futures to become a more comprehensive on-chain trading platform. Borrowing enables traders to unlock liquidity without closing existing positions, making it easier for them to manage their exposure.
The borrowed assets are still collateralized, meaning users must maintain sufficient assets backing their positions. If the value of the collateral falls too far relative to the borrowed amount, liquidation rules can be triggered. This is particularly relevant when volatile assets like HYPE and Bitcoin underlie the loan.
