Hyperliquid Eyes Regulated U.S. Entry Amid $9 Billion Open Interest Surge
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, has announced plans to launch regulated U.S. Hyperliquid crypto markets pending federal approval.
The proposed deployment would assign specific responsibilities to Bitnomial Exchange and Bitnomial Clearinghouse, while keeping order matching and trade records on the public blockchain.
According to Payward's head of U.S. derivatives, Jon Pham, clients would access the proposed service by opening a futures account with Payward's registered broker before trading new contracts.
The proposal follows President Donald Trump's August announcement concerning Hyperliquid's potential U.S. entry, and Grayscale reported that Hyperliquid crypto averaged approximately $9 billion in open interest during the second quarter of 2026, representing a 54% increase from the previous year.
