Crypto Banter founder Ran Neuner has identified regulation as the main risk factor for Hyperliquid, a decentralized perpetual futures trading platform.

In an interview with Cointelegraph's Chain Reaction podcast, Neuner warned that governments may extend rules currently being built for centralized exchanges to decentralized platforms like Hyperliquid. He pointed out that while regulatory frameworks for centralized venues are already taking shape, the treatment of decentralized exchanges remains unclear and could affect how platforms operate across jurisdictions.

Numerous factors contribute to Hyperliquid's competitive position, including its network effects and liquidity advantages, which make it difficult for competitors to replicate. Neuner likened this challenge to the broader tech market, stating 'You can't copy a network.'

The platform has already seen significant growth, with DeFiLlama data showing about $223 billion in trading volume over the past 30 days. However, regulatory uncertainty surrounding its access to the US market remains a concern.
