Hyperliquid Introduces Optional Wallet Allowlists for Perpetual Markets

Hyperliquid, an onchain derivatives exchange, is introducing optional wallet allowlists for its perpetual markets. The feature, known as HIP-3*, allows market deployers to decide which wallets can trade on their venues without applying a blanket access policy across the platform.

The addition of HIP-3* is part of Hyperliquid's framework for creating perpetual markets by independent builders. This new extension enables an onchain allowlist and proxied user actions, giving deployers more control over who can access their markets.

According to Hyperliquid, each power granted through the proxy function is limited by the venue boundary, ensuring that orders outside the allowlist remain unaffected. This design could benefit firms with customer or jurisdiction restrictions, enabling them to create gated perpetual markets while others continue using ordinary HIP-3.
