Hyperliquid Joins Singapore's Crypto Warning List Amid Tightened Retail Safeguards
Hyperliquid, a major DeFi protocol, has been added to Singapore's Investor Alert List by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The listing, which includes both the Hyper Foundation website and the Hyperliquid trading application, does not constitute a ban or enforcement action, according to Hyperliquid. In fact, the project claims it has never claimed to be licensed by MAS.
The MAS maintains that entities listed on the Investor Alert List may be wrongly perceived as being licensed or regulated by the regulator, but this does not imply wrongdoing. This is one of the first instances of a major DeFi protocol appearing on the list, which serves as a public notice that the entity is not licensed or regulated by MAS.
Hyperliquid joins several other crypto platforms already listed, including Binance (BNB), KuCoin (KCS), Bitget (BGB), and Bybit. The listing does not restrict access to the protocol, but it may impact user perception of the platform's legitimacy.
