Hyperliquid Open Interest Surpasses Record $18 Billion
Hyperliquid has broken its own record for open interest, reaching an astonishing $18 billion in outstanding positions. This milestone surpasses the previous high of $16.36 billion set just four days earlier on September 19th.
The platform's open interest has seen significant growth over the past few weeks, with a staggering increase of around $5 billion from the end of August. Bitcoin, Ether, and HYPE are among the top assets driving this activity, accounting for roughly $9.33 billion in open interest.
Hyperliquid's expansion into non-crypto markets through its HIP 3 framework has also contributed to this growth. The platform now offers perpetual contracts tied to assets such as the S&P 500, gold, crude oil, and private companies like SpaceX. These markets have become a significant part of Hyperliquid's trading volume, with cumulative trading volume across HIP 3 markets passing $548 billion by early September.
