Hyperliquid Perpetual Futures May Soon Reach US Investors
Hyperliquid's perpetual futures could soon be available to US customers following an urging from the Trump Administration for the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to bring HYPE into the market.
The Hyperliquid decentralized exchange (DEX) operates on a Layer-1 blockchain, allowing high-speed trades with zero transaction fees. Its perpetual futures allow users to bet on cryptocurrency price movements without owning the underlying token.
Perpetual futures are banned in the US, UK, and China due to concerns over leverage limits and funding rates, which can be opaque. However, Hyperliquid's expansion into Ethereum's decentralized applications and tokenized assets could drive growth.
The CFTC may approve HYPE under an accelerated timeline, but even if approved, it would likely face tighter restrictions than its overseas counterpart, including lower leverage limits and sanctions screening.
