Hyperliquid Price Hits Record High Amid Regulatory Push
Hyperliquid's price surge has reached new heights, but is it stretching too thin? The cryptocurrency hit a record high of $86.75 on Thursday, only to dip by 2% on Friday. Despite this, Nasdaq-listed Hyperliquid Strategies Inc (PURR) recently raised almost $650 million in an equity deal to increase its HYPE holding to 29.3 million tokens.
The company's treasury growth and push into the US market through perpetual futures are driving demand for HYPE. The balance sheet shows a significant increase in cash reserves, with $149.9 million in cash and cash equivalents and zero debt.
Regulatory efforts are also supporting Hyperliquid's expansion plans. At the US CFTC's Innovation Advisory Committee meeting on August 20, the company pushed for perpetual contracts in the US market and on-chain infrastructure for derivatives trading.
