Hyperliquid Sprints Ahead of Crypto Market, Stablecoin Realignment Fuels Growth
Hyperliquid outperformed the broader crypto market in Q2, according to a report from Four Pillars and GLC Research. The protocol's revenue-generating potential has piqued investor interest, with returns diverging significantly from Bitcoin's decline.
The report notes that Hyperliquid's 79.2% returns in Q2 far exceeded the cryptocurrency's 14.1% drop, marking a shift in investor focus from crypto exposure to cash-generative protocol potential. Protocol revenue came in at $169.37 million, down 6.6% quarter-over-quarter and 11.8% year-over-year.
The stablecoin realignment with USDC is estimated to add $135-200 million annualized to holder economics, despite Hyperliquid giving up its native stablecoin and winding down the issuer. Institutional participation increased with three US spot HYPE ETFs launching, but incumbent responses highlight ongoing market constraints and competition.
