Hyperliquid Surges as Regulated Futures Markets Launch
Hyperliquid's stock price surged by nearly 9% to reach $86.3 on September 17, 2026, outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum in a day of modest gains for major cryptocurrencies.
The surge was driven by several strategic institutional and regulatory breakthroughs, including the launch of the first CFTC-regulated U.S. on-chain perpetual futures markets, which will utilize Hyperliquid's HIP-3 framework.
Payward, the parent company of Kraken exchange, announced its plan to deploy these new markets in collaboration with Bitnomial Exchange and Clearinghouse, a fully regulated clearinghouse by the CFTC, and NinjaTrader Clearing.
In parallel, Virtune, a Swedish regulated crypto asset manager, listed a physically-backed Virtune Hyperliquid ETP on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, providing Polish investors with regulated exposure to HYPE.
