Hyperliquid Surges Past Solana as Both Cryptos Eye 2030 Growth
Hyperliquid has seen a remarkable surge in value this year, rising by 266% to reach $93 per token. In contrast, Solana has fallen by about 3%, currently trading at $124. This stark difference raises the question: which cryptocurrency has greater growth potential by 2030?
To determine this, we need to consider the fully diluted valuation of each asset. Hyperliquid's total value reaches around $89 billion, surpassing Solana's market cap of approximately $73 billion. Notably, most of Hyperliquid's tokens are still locked, with only about 251 million in circulation out of a total 952 million.
This means that when the remaining tokens are released, the market could see nearly three more tokens for every one currently available. The platform also uses 97% of its trading fees to buy back HYPE tokens, backed by $476 million in treasury purchases and $502 million across three U.S. spot ETFs.
Looking ahead to 2030, Solana needs less new capital to double in value, while Hyperliquid requires about $31 billion more in valuation than Solana. Despite this, Hyperliquid's current momentum is fueled by buybacks and treasury purchases, pushing its performance up 266% this year.
