Hyperliquid Surges to 11.8% Global Perpetual Futures Market Share
Decentralized exchange Hyperliquid has reached a record share of the global perpetual futures market, according to a recent report. As of October 4, Hyperliquid's share of the perpetual futures market had risen to 11.8% based on open interest, a figure that covers the entire perpetual futures market, including major centralized exchanges such as Binance, Bybit, and OKX.
Open interest refers to the total amount of derivatives positions that have not yet been liquidated or closed, serving as a gauge of the size of active leveraged positions and capital on a given exchange. Hyperliquid's share of the perpetual futures market hit a then-record 10.5% in mid-September, and continued to rise, reaching 11.4% by the end of September.
The significant increase in Hyperliquid's market share is a testament to the growing popularity of decentralized exchanges in the crypto space. Hyperliquid's perpetual futures market share has nearly doubled in just a few weeks, demonstrating the platform's ability to attract and retain users.
