Hyperliquid's Derivatives Market Hits Record Open Interest
Hyperliquid's derivatives market continues to thrive, with Open Interest reaching a record $5.25 billion, surpassing Bybit's $5.07 billion and extending its lead over HTX, Bitfinex, Kraken, and Coinbase.
The platform processed $3.48 billion in perpetual volume over the past 24 hours, while monthly perpetual volume reached $196 billion, demonstrating steady trader participation.
According to DeFiLlama data, Hyperliquid traded approximately $13 billion in perpetual trading volume over the last 24 hours, further indicating that traders are holding onto their positions rather than exiting quickly.
The protocol's revenue continues to expand, with $513,800 of protocol revenue transferred to both the Assistance Fund and token holders over the last 24 hours. Cumulative burns reached 46.18 million HYPE tokens, worth roughly $2.43 billion or 4.62% of the token's maximum supply.
Hyperliquid is pairing token burns with recurring protocol revenue, rather than relying solely on a deflationary mechanism. Priority fees have emerged as another meaningful contributor, generating $5.07 million since April, with $2.75 million in the last month alone.
