Hyperliquid's HYPE Token Poised for Strong Performance Amid Bull Run
Hyperliquid's HYPE token has outperformed the bear market and is positioned to continue its strong performance in the next bull cycle, according to trader Pentosh1. The token's value has been bolstered by a robust burn mechanism that has seen nearly all protocol fees funding buybacks of HYPE on the open market. Since November 2024, Hyperliquid has burned over $1.27 billion worth of HYPE tokens.
The AQAv2 upgrade, set to launch on August 26, will add an additional revenue stream by routing USDC yield into HYPE burns, potentially generating up to $160 million in yearly buyback pressure. This new mechanism will direct 90% of the reserve yield earned on over $5 billion in USDC held on the platform towards HYPE buys.
Pentosh1 argues that HYPE's dynamics make it one of the strongest bets heading into the next bull run, citing its revenue-sharing structure and strong trading volume. The exchange is estimated to handle between 40% and 70% of all decentralized perpetual futures volume, with lifetime trading volume reaching trillions of dollars.
