Hyperliquid's US Expansion Faces Regulatory Hurdles and Scalability Concerns

Hyperliquid's (HYPE) expansion into the US market has sparked concerns from Wintermute CEO Evgeny Gaevoy. He warned that stricter regulations could force Hyperliquid to introduce Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements, making it similar to traditional centralized exchanges.

Gaevoy stated, 'If Hyperliquid becomes like KYC-able, like, okay, then it's just another exchange.'

He also expressed concerns about blockchain throughput, questioning whether blockchains can handle the enormous volumes handled by traditional exchanges like CME and Nasdaq. Gaevoy believes that competing with major financial exchanges could require Hyperliquid to become more centralized.
