Hyperscale Data Axes Bitcoin Mining to Make Room for AI
Hyperscale Data has halted all bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan data center to prepare for a major AI infrastructure shift.
The company, which operates through its subsidiary Sentinum Inc., shut down all miners on September 1, 2026, as part of a previously announced master services agreement with a California-based neocloud provider.
The contract includes an initial 10-year term with two five-year extension options, and is expected to generate revenue exceeding $1.2 billion if exercised for the maximum 20-year term.
The Michigan facility has an estimated total power capacity of approximately 340 megawatts, leaving roughly 80% available for additional customers and future expansion after the AI deployment.
