Hyperscale Data Creates Patriot BTC as Bitcoin Mining Business Separates from AI
Hyperscale Data, the company behind GPUS stock, has announced plans to separate its Bitcoin mining business into a new subsidiary called Patriot BTC. The move aims to clarify the valuation of Hyperscale's mining and AI businesses, which have different capital requirements and priorities.
Executive Chairman Milton Ault III said that Bitcoin mining 'can be viable as a focused, single-purpose business.' The separation will allow Hyperscale to focus on positioning its Michigan facility for a potential sale or public-company transaction. Patriot BTC may eventually be placed inside a publicly traded entity.
The company's Michigan AI data center is nearing its first customer agreement with a California-based neocloud provider. If the deal runs its full 20 years, it could generate over $1.2 billion in revenue. However, if the customer expands to 52 megawatts (MW), revenue could top $3 billion.
