Hyperscale Data Ditches Bitcoin Mining for AI-Focused Operations
Hyperscale Data, Inc., a company that operates a large data center in Michigan, has ceased all Bitcoin mining operations at its facility to prepare for an AI-focused transition. The shutdown took effect on September 1, 2026, following a mutual agreement with the company's neocloud customer.
The master services agreement (MSA) between Hyperscale Data and its California-based neocloud customer covers the deployment of 20 megawatts (MW) of AI compute capacity. The MSA has an initial term of 10 years, with two five-year extension options exercisable by the customer, effectively creating a maximum term.
The agreement outlines significant revenue potential for Hyperscale Data, with total contract revenue expected to exceed $1.2 billion if exercised for the maximum term. If the additional capacity option is exercised within the first two years of the initial term and continues through both five-year extension options, total contract revenue could reach over $3.0 billion.
