Hyperscale Data Sells Bitcoin to Fund Michigan AI Data Center Campus
Hyperscale Data Inc., a NYSE American-listed company, has tapped its bitcoin holdings to fund the development of its Michigan AI data center campus. The company announced it will monetize approximately 100 bitcoins and use the proceeds directly for campus development.
The company also established a bitcoin-backed credit facility that allows it to borrow capital at variable interest rates ranging from 4.5% to 5.0%. The loan is secured by pledged bitcoin, which Hyperscale Data had accumulated through mining operations and treasury management worth around $71 million.
The Michigan campus is being developed to support a master services agreement with an AI infrastructure provider. The agreement has a 10-year initial term, with two five-year extension options, and contemplates approximately 20 megawatts of critical AI compute capacity. If exercised for the maximum term, the deal is expected to generate over $1.2 billion in revenue.
