Hyperscale Data Shuts Down Bitcoin Mining to Prepare for AI Infrastructure
Hyperscale Data, Inc., a company operating through its subsidiary Sentinum, Inc., has ceased all bitcoin mining operations at its Michigan data center. The shutdown was effective September 1, 2026, and allows the facility to prepare for AI infrastructure deployment under a master services agreement.
The contract with the California-based neocloud provider is worth an estimated $1.2 billion over its initial 10-year term, with two five-year extension options available. The customer has the option to add up to 32 megawatts of additional capacity within the first two years, potentially increasing total revenue to over $3.0 billion.
The Michigan facility has an estimated total power capacity of approximately 340 megawatts, and the deployment would require about 20% of this capacity. This leaves around 80% available for future customers and expansion, subject to successful development and availability of planned power capacity.
