Hyperscale Data's $51M Bitcoin Holdings Outshine Its Market Cap
Hyperscale Data, a company listed on the NYSE American exchange under the ticker GPUS, has disclosed its significant Bitcoin holdings. As of September 13, the company's combined Bitcoin, cash, and restricted cash total approximately $51 million. This figure is noteworthy because it exceeds the company's market capitalization by about 136%.
The breakdown shows that Hyperscale Data holds 216.9480 BTC valued at around $16.7 million, using a Bitcoin price of $76,838.16 per coin. The remaining $34.3 million is in cash and restricted cash, providing the company with substantial liquidity. This liquidity enables the firm to pursue its AI infrastructure projects while engaging in Bitcoin mining operations.
Hyperscale Data's Sentinum subsidiary operates a data center in Michigan focused on both AI colocation and hosting services alongside Bitcoin mining operations. The company has also demonstrated a willingness to use its digital assets strategically, as evidenced by the sale of approximately 65 BTC for around $5.1 million in late August to pay down debt.
The company's goal is to build a $100 million digital asset treasury, with current levels indicating it is roughly one-sixth of the way there on the Bitcoin side alone. To reach this target, Hyperscale Data would need either significant additional Bitcoin purchases or meaningful price appreciation, or a combination of both.
