Hyperscale Data’s Bitcoin and Cash Reserves Surpass Market Valuation
Hyperscale Data, an AI data center business listed on the NYSE American under the ticker GPUS, reported holding about 220 Bitcoin (worth approximately $19 million) and $37.4 million in cash as of October 4, 2026. This marks a modest increase from the company’s previous update on September 29, which showed 219.0652 BTC valued at around $18.5 million and $37.5 million in cash, totaling roughly $56 million in liquid assets.
At the time of the September report, the combined value of Hyperscale Data’s Bitcoin and cash holdings equated to about 153% of its market capitalization, meaning the company’s entire valuation was lower than the sum of its treasury holdings. Since early September, both the Bitcoin count and cash reserves have seen slight increases, with the former rising from 216.95 BTC and the latter from $34.3 million.
The company is shifting its focus from Bitcoin mining to AI colocation and hosting services in Michigan. Executive Chairman Milton “Todd” Ault III has emphasized the strategic role of Bitcoin as a long-term reserve asset rather than a mining byproduct, a departure from the traditional miner approach of selling mined coins to cover operational costs.
The volatility of Bitcoin presents both risks and opportunities. While cash remains the steadier component of Hyperscale Data’s liquid resources, the company’s Bitcoin holdings, valued at $19 million on October 4, could fluctuate significantly with market movements. As of September, Bitcoin was priced at $84,458, underscoring the potential for rapid changes in the asset’s value.
