IBM Bolsters Digital Asset Haven with Swift Blockchain Link and On-Premises Option
IBM has expanded its Digital Asset Haven platform with two new features for financial institutions. The company added a messaging adapter that connects clients to Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger, allowing banks to process tokenized deposits using standard ISO 20022 payment formats.
The Swift connection is significant because it enables institutions to handle tokenized deposit transactions without building blockchain-specific workflows. Instead, they can rely on systems already in use for compliance and payments.
IBM also introduced an on-premises deployment option for Digital Asset Haven, which runs on IBM Z and LinuxONE hardware. This allows banks to host the platform within their own data centers, keeping sensitive information private.
The announcement comes as the financial services industry is undergoing a shift towards tokenized and traditional assets coexisting. J.P. Morgan Payments data shows that 93% of financial institutions are modernizing their payments infrastructure.
