IBM Connects Digital Asset Haven to Swift's Blockchain Ledger
IBM has integrated its Digital Asset Haven platform with Swift's blockchain-based shared ledger. This connection enables clients to instruct tokenized deposit transactions, linking enterprise-grade wallet infrastructure with the global banking network's system.
The integration brings together two significant pieces of institutional blockchain infrastructure built in recent years. IBM Digital Asset Haven is a platform that manages wallets and enforces governance policies across 40 public and private blockchains. Its architecture prioritizes security through multi-party computation, hardware security modules, and confidential computing.
Swift's shared ledger was launched on July 9, 2026, with 17 participating banks. The ledger is designed for tokenized deposits, which are digital representations of commercial bank money. Tokenized deposits move in real-time but settle through traditional payment rails.
In September 2026, three Singaporean banks executed SGD tokenized deposit transactions on Swift's shared ledger. This was not a test but actual production usage. The integration between IBM and Swift represents a significant development for institutions looking to manage positions across multiple blockchains.
IBM's existing enterprise relationships give Swift's ledger access to organizations that might not have prioritized tokenized deposits otherwise. Conversely, the 17 banks already piloting Swift's ledger can now leverage IBM's custody technology.
