IBM Links Digital Asset Haven to Swift Blockchain Ledger
IBM has connected its Digital Asset Haven platform to Swift's blockchain network, enabling banks to move tokenized deposits around the clock through a shared ledger.
The integration allows participating institutions to initiate tokenized deposit activity on Swift's blockchain using payment formats already embedded in bank systems. This means that digital assets can be transferred and settled 24/7, with final settlement occurring through existing banking infrastructure.
The new adapter relies on ISO 20022, the financial messaging standard used by Swift, to let banks connect digital transactions with their existing operational processes. This eliminates the need for separate blockchain-specific payment workflows.
In addition to the Swift connection, IBM has launched an on-premises beta for Digital Asset Haven, which keeps digital asset operations inside client data centers using IBM Z or LinuxONE systems. This reduces the dependence on public-cloud infrastructure and provides greater control over digital assets.
