IBM Ties Digital Asset Haven to SWIFT Ledger for Tokenized Deposits
IBM has connected its Digital Asset Haven platform to SWIFT's shared ledger for tokenized deposits, allowing participating banks to instruct transactions through standard payment messages. The connection was announced in a beta release on September 24 and uses an ISO 20022 Messaging Adapter.
The adapter maps ISO 20022 payment instructions to transactions on SWIFT's permissioned ledger, enabling institutions to use familiar formats and compliance processes. This integration brings IBM's digital-asset platform into the existing SWIFT program, making it easier for banks to work with tokenized deposits.
IBM has also announced an on-premises beta for institutions that want to run Haven in their own data centers. This option allows regulated institutions to maintain direct control over infrastructure used for custody and transaction management while evaluating digital-asset services.
