Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (ICE), the owner of the New York Stock Exchange, has teamed up with Trade.xyz to launch a regulated market for hyperliquid perpetual futures in the US. The new platform will leverage Hyperliquid’s infrastructure and offer products tied to equities, equity indexes, commodities, and currencies, pending regulatory approval.
The market will feature its own clearing, know-your-customer (KYC), and anti-money laundering (AML) systems, ensuring compliance with US regulations. ICE and Trade.xyz aim to bring perpetual futures, derivatives with no expiration date, into the mainstream, a product category currently dominated by offshore crypto-trading platforms.
This move marks a significant step toward integrating crypto-like products into traditional financial markets. By building on Hyperliquid’s existing framework, the new platform seeks to combine the efficiency of decentralized trading with the oversight of regulated exchanges.
