Illinois Crypto Tax Delay Hits Roadblock as Judge Approval Still Pending

Share

The Illinois crypto tax has been delayed to July 2027 after an agreement between the state and industry groups, but it still needs a judge's approval.

According to reports by Wu Blockchain on X, the Digital Chamber (TDC) and the Illinois Blockchain Association reached an agreement with the state to postpone the 0.2% crypto tax from January 1 to July 1, 2027.

If approved, this delay would give digital asset firms a six-month reprieve and shift hearings on the constitutionality of crypto tax provisions.
