The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has approved a disbursement of $138 million for El Salvador, following a waiver for the country's failure to meet a condition related to its Bitcoin accumulation.

The IMF Executive Board completed the second and third reviews of El Salvador's Extended Fund Facility program on October 1.

The waiver granted to El Salvador allows the country to continue participating in the IMF program, despite not meeting the condition of accumulating Bitcoin.

The IMF approved a disbursement worth SDR 101.96 million, which is equivalent to $138 million.
