Incheon Police Nab Two Men for Cryptocurrency Scam that Left Victim Unconscious
A group of individuals in Incheon lured a victim into a cryptocurrency trading scheme, drugged him, and stole 35 million won. The suspects, identified as A and B, were arrested by police on September 30. They had approached the victim at an officetel lobby in Cheongna-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon, with promises of saving on transaction fees.
The suspects handed the victim a drink suspected to contain drugs, rendering him unconscious. While he was in a dazed state, they took 35 million won from his wallet. The police apprehended A and B in Wonju, Gangwon Province, and Incheon on September 21 and 29, respectively.
The police confiscated 5.5 million won in cash from B during the arrest. They also requested a detailed appraisal from the National Forensic Service to investigate the type of drug contained in the drink.
