India ED Renews Partnership with NFSU to Enhance Crypto and Blockchain Tracing

Share

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India has renewed its partnership with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to enhance its cyber-forensic and digital-investigation capabilities. The agreement, which was first struck in 2021, will now last for an additional five years.

According to the ED's press release, NFSU will provide consultancy services to establish and upgrade Cyber Forensic Laboratories across India. This includes infrastructure development, advanced forensic tools, capacity building, training, and technical support for digital forensics and cybercrime investigations.

The agreement specifically mentions NFSU's expertise in 'digital forensics, malware analysis, network forensics, and crypto and blockchain tracing.' While the ED has not announced any new powers or regulations related to cryptocurrencies, the renewed partnership highlights its continued focus on building technical capabilities for investigating financial crimes and cyber-related evidence.
