India Tops Centralized Crypto Exchange Inflows Despite Contraction

Share

India has retained its position as Central and Southeast Asia and Oceania's largest market for centralized crypto exchange inflows, despite a 14.7% contraction in its overall crypto economy to $135 billion.

The country led the region with $88.4 billion in CEX inflows between July 2025 and June 2026, surpassing Singapore at $82.3 billion and Australia at $79.3 billion.

Crypto users in India are mainly buying, holding, and selling digital assets for investment purposes, according to Ashish Singhal, co-founder of CoinSwitch, who told Chainalysis that the investor base is expanding beyond younger users to include those aged 35 and above with larger portfolios.
