Indian long-distance runner Abhishek Pal is facing an uncertain future after being served a doping notice by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) ahead of the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. The agency found Clomiphene, a 'specified substance' under the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code, in his sample.

The concentration of Clomiphene detected was below two nanograms per millilitre (2 ng/mL), which is WADA's minimum reporting level for the parent compound. Pal has already submitted a response to NADA and plans to contest the notice.

This development puts his participation in the prestigious continental event into jeopardy, with potential consequences including a minimum two-year ban if found guilty.
