India's crypto regulation debate is moving into a new phase as the government prepares to respond next week to recommendations made by the Parliamentary Finance Committee on virtual digital assets (VDAs).

The committee, led by Chairman Bhartruhari Mahtab, has completed its discussions and consultations with major stakeholders, including exchanges like Binance, WazirX, and ZebPay.

Mahtab stated that while the government does not want to regulate VDAs, failing to do so leaves a 'greater scope for different types of indulgences.'

The committee's report is expected to provide much-needed clarity on India's crypto regulation, which has been shrouded in uncertainty for years.
