Infosys Brings Blockchain Exposure to 1.7 Billion Bank Accounts with Chainlink Partnership
Indian IT services giant Infosys has partnered with blockchain oracle provider Chainlink to integrate its suite of tools into Infosys's banking and payments infrastructure. This partnership will enable the company to standardize a range of Chainlink technologies, including Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) and Proof of Reserve, within its existing financial stack.
The deal is significant as it brings blockchain exposure to over 1.7 billion customer accounts worldwide without requiring an IT overhaul. This integration will make it easier for institutions to access blockchain technology through established workflows.
Chainlink's institutional playbook continues to gain momentum with this partnership, following a previous collaboration with Bottomline in September 2026 that targeted over 600 banks and $16 trillion in annual transaction volume. Infosys, valued at over $40 billion, brings decades of embedded relationships with tier-one banks, central banks, and payment networks across Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
The integration of Chainlink's tools will enable institutions to verify assets backing tokenized products, provide real-time pricing data, and handle cross-chain movement. This will facilitate the growth of onchain markets by addressing regulatory requirements and compliance needs.
