Injective Aims for 2027 US INJ ETF Launch, Possibly This Year
Injective, a leading blockchain and DeFi platform, is making significant strides in its expansion into regulated and institutional markets. According to Injective CEO Eric Chen, the company's US INJ ETF could launch before 2027, possibly as soon as this year. This comes as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) currently has two INJ-related ETF applications on file: the 21Shares Injective ETF and the Canary Staked INJ ETF.
The two asset managers first submitted their filings last year and refiled amended S-1 registration statements in September. Injective is also expanding its presence in the regulated US market, having obtained SEC-registered transfer agent status in August through its subsidiary, Injective Institutional Services. Chen described this registration as 'only the beginning,' stating that the company is pursuing additional licenses.
Injective has also implemented its Meridian upgrade, which strengthens features for institutional users, allowing them to move beyond pilot-stage on-chain tokenization, asset issuance, and collateral use. This upgrade is expected to turn these services into live offerings. In Europe, Injective has completed the filing of a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) white paper for the INJ token, and is pursuing partnerships in payments and tokenization with already licensed financial institutions.
