Injective CEO Eyes Potential US INJ ETF Launch Before 2027
Injective's CEO, Eric Chen, has suggested that a US-based exchange-traded fund (ETF) for the INJ token could launch sooner than expected, potentially even this year. While Chen did not provide a specific timeline, he indicated that 2027 was 'a little too far away,' highlighting that the process is progressing faster than anticipated. Currently, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is reviewing two INJ ETF applications: the 21Shares Injective ETF and the Canary Staked INJ ETF, both of which were refiled in September.
Injective is actively expanding its presence in regulated markets. The company secured SEC-registered transfer agent status for its Institutional Services in August, with Chen noting that this is just the beginning of their regulatory efforts. Additionally, Injective implemented the Meridian upgrade on September 24, enhancing features for institutional users, including on-chain tokenization, asset issuance, and collateral use.
In Europe, Injective has filed a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) white paper for the INJ token and is exploring partnerships with licensed financial institutions in payments and tokenization. These developments reflect Injective's broader strategy to integrate deeper into both the US and European regulatory frameworks.
