Injective Launches Trench Treasury to Reward Grassroots Builders
The Injective Foundation has launched the Injective Trench Treasury, a new initiative aimed at supporting the grassroots contributors who help grow its ecosystem. The program began on October 6, 2026, with the first rewards in INJ tokens distributed to two community projects: Sprout and RunUp.
The Trench Treasury has two main functions: supporting builder teams working on Injective and rewarding active community members, known as “ninjas.” The name reflects the foundation’s focus on grassroots efforts. Sprout and RunUp were chosen as the initial recipients for their roles in boosting user engagement and attracting new builders to the platform.
To qualify for support, projects must meet several criteria, including the centrality of INJ to their operations, the distribution of their token holders, genuine liquidity, sustained community activity, fair distribution practices, and innovative technology. The foundation has not yet disclosed the total size of the treasury or the specific reward amounts given to Sprout and RunUp.
The Trench Treasury is part of a broader push by the Injective Foundation to foster ecosystem growth. Other planned initiatives include community-driven projects, memes, and launchpads designed to onboard new users. Additionally, Canary Capital has filed for an INJ ETF, described as a staked INJ product. Unlike traditional grant programs, this initiative focuses on projects that demonstrate sustainability and long-term participation.
