Injective Targets U.S. ETF Launch for INJ Before 2027
Injective is making significant strides toward expanding its market access, particularly in the U.S., as it navigates the regulatory landscape for its native token, INJ. The company's Chief Executive, Eric Chen, anticipates that U.S. exchange-traded funds (ETFs) linked to INJ could launch before 2027, a timeline he describes as sooner than expected.
Two ETF applications, 21Shares Injective ETF and Canary Staked INJ ETF, have amended their S-1 filings, signaling progress in the approval process. Injective Institutional Services recently secured SEC transfer agent registration, a move that supports its broader institutional strategy in the U.S. Chen also highlighted the Meridian upgrade, which aims to facilitate live on-chain tokenization and compliance-focused transfer controls.
In Europe, Injective has completed the MiCA white paper process for INJ and is advancing tokenization initiatives through partnerships with licensed firms and major financial institutions. Chen emphasized the importance of private markets for tokenized real-world assets, noting that blockchain-based structures can streamline processes traditionally bogged down by intermediation.
While the regulatory buildout progresses, Chen acknowledged that securing regional licenses in Europe is moving slowly. Injective is collaborating with firms that already hold licenses and preparing partnerships with large financial institutions focused on payments and tokenization.
