Institutional Buyers Boost Bitcoin Ethereum and Solana Holdings
Cryptocurrency markets have seen notable buying activity among institutional players, with Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana leading the charge. Strategy, the world’s largest publicly traded Bitcoin holder, recently purchased an additional 334 Bitcoin, bringing its total holdings to 848,000 BTC. The company also repurchased STRC preferred shares worth $176 million. Michael Saylor, Strategy’s founder, highlighted that the company holds $5.7 billion in assets, enough to cover current preferred stock dividends and interest payments for approximately 3.6 years.
Strive also joined the buying spree, acquiring 2,000 Bitcoin worth $169 million. This purchase increased Strive’s total Bitcoin holdings to 29,462 BTC, with an average purchase price of $84,422 per Bitcoin. Strive CEO Matt Cole revealed that 61.5% of the acquisition funds came from SATA, while $56.7 million was raised through stock options.
Ethereum saw significant purchases as well. Bitmine, the world’s largest holder of Ethereum, announced the acquisition of 15,112 ETH, bringing its total holdings to 6,016,414 ETH, equivalent to 4.9% of the total circulating ETH supply. Bitmine’s total assets, including cryptocurrency, cash, and strategic investments, have reached $17.4 billion. Tom Lee, Bitmine Chairman, stated that the company has been purchasing ETH consistently since launching its ETH Treasury Strategy on June 30, 2025.
Solana also saw institutional interest. DeFi Development Corp., a Nasdaq-listed company, purchased an additional 26,203 Solana, increasing its total SOL holdings to 2.564 million. The company also generates additional revenue by staking its SOL holdings and operating its own validator.
