Institutional Crypto Investors Buck Market Decline

A recent study by Bitwise Asset Management found that institutional investors held firm through a steep market decline, with some even increasing their crypto allocations.

The report surveyed 15 of the world's largest institutions and found that not one respondent reduced its crypto allocation during the roughly 50% market drawdown between October 2025 and April 2026. In fact, several institutions used this time to buy more crypto.

The study revealed a striking consistency in the thinking among institutional investors, with none citing price as a reason for exiting their crypto positions. Instead, they focused on fitting crypto into existing investment policy frameworks and managing perceived reputational risk.
