Institutional Demand Keeps Bitcoin Afloat Amid Price Volatility
Bitcoin's recent price pullback has not deterred institutional investors from accumulating more BTC. Despite reaching highs above $87,000 earlier in the week, the cryptocurrency stabilized near $84,000 heading into the weekend.
The steady demand for Bitcoin is largely driven by spot ETF inflows, with US funds attracting over $2 billion in fresh capital between September 21 and 25. BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust led the pack, bringing in $1.16 billion during this period, followed closely by Fidelity's FBTC with $701.6 million.
Rising Treasury yields and regulatory uncertainty have created headwinds for Bitcoin, with the US 10-year Treasury yield climbing above 5.2% on Friday, reaching levels not seen since 2007. Meanwhile, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce's departure on October 2 has left a void in crypto regulation, particularly regarding staking policies and token classification.
Despite these challenges, institutional investors remain interested in digital assets, with Ether ETFs attracting $689.8 million and Solana ETFs adding another $188.1 million during the same period.
