Institutional Investors Could Drive Trillions into Bitcoin by 2035
Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan predicts that institutional investors could direct trillions of dollars into Bitcoin over the next decade, driving its price to $1.3 million by 2035.
Hougan believes that major players will gradually view Bitcoin as a full-fledged financial asset, leading to increased demand from institutions such as pension plans, insurance companies, and sovereign funds.
He estimates that these institutional investors manage assets worth $100 to $200 trillion worldwide, and if they allocate just 1% of their portfolios to Bitcoin, it could support long-term growth.
Hougan's forecast is based on the idea that Bitcoin can take a quarter of the expanding savings market, similar to how gold grew from $2 trillion to $30 trillion after the launch of gold ETFs in 2004.
