Iran Conflict Delays World Liberty Financial's Maldives Resort Token Launch
The planned sale of World Liberty Financial's token linked to a Maldives resort has been postponed due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.
According to Bloomberg, the Trump-family backed cryptocurrency venture had scheduled the sale for next year, but it will now happen at a later date.
The tokenization pitch was simple: hold the token and receive a cut of revenue generated by the loans that finance the Trump-branded resort. The delay has nothing to do with the token itself, but rather the disruption of travel across the region due to the Iran war.
Securitize, a real-world asset platform, came aboard in February to help represent loan interests connected to the resort's development as a digital token tradable onchain.
