iShares Bitcoin Trust Surges to Top Spot Among Bitcoin ETFs
The price of Bitcoin has surged by 21% since August 19, providing some much-needed momentum for bulls. As investors look to gain exposure to the top cryptocurrency in a convenient and regulatory-compliant way, several spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) are available.
Among these options, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) stands out as the largest spot Bitcoin ETF, with $61.4 billion in net assets. This significant sum surpasses the next biggest ETF, Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, which has less than 25% of IBIT's net assets.
The massive inflow of capital into spot Bitcoin ETFs, particularly IBIT, is evident from the past two weeks. In nine out of ten days, billions of dollars have flowed into these funds, with the majority going to IBIT. This trend supports IBIT's position as the top industry player.
IBIT's scale and liquidity offer several benefits for investors. For instance, its higher assets under management translate to tighter trading spreads, making it an attractive option for long-term investors who adopt a buy-and-hold strategy.
