Italian Parliament Proposes Reducing Crypto Tax Rate to 26%
A proposal to reduce the tax rate on cryptocurrency gains in Italy has been presented by an intergroup parliamentary group. The proposed tax rate would decrease from 33% to 26% starting from 2027.
The group, led by Ferdinando Ametrano, aims to correct what they consider an 'incoherence' in the current system, which unfairly penalizes cryptocurrency investors compared to other financial instruments.
The proposal is part of a broader initiative to regulate digital assets and blockchain technology in Italy. The intergroup has been working on various aspects of digital finance, including cybersecurity, tokenization, and stablecoins.
