Japan Blockchain Fund Launches Stablecoin Proof-of-Concept Program
The Japan Blockchain Fund has launched a stablecoin proof-of-concept program called 'Stablecoin Proof-of-Concept Partners' on September 24. The goal of this program is to collaborate with participating companies and organizations to explore and test the use of stablecoins.
Twenty-six companies and organizations have joined the program, including Toshiba, SCSK, Eighty-Two Nagaoka Bank, Asahi Broadcasting Group Holdings, Tobu Top Tours, and Taikawa City in Fukuoka Prefecture. The names of 10 additional participants will be disclosed at a later date.
The Japan Blockchain Fund is developing a trust-type Japanese yen stablecoin called 'EJPY', which will be issued on the Japan Open Chain (JOC) platform. The program aims to explore the use of EJPY and other digital assets in various fields, including domestic and international remittances, corporate transactions, real estate-backed securities tokens, and Web3 services.
The participating companies will have access to educational workshops on stablecoins, individual consultations on business and system design, and a test environment for EJPY and JOC wallets. The program is expected to run from September 2026 to February 2027 and will be free of charge.
