Japan's Remixpoint Exits Altcoins, Focuses Solely on Bitcoin
Japan's Remixpoint has significantly revised its cryptocurrency portfolio by selling all of its major altcoin positions and concentrating on Bitcoin. According to a recent disclosure, the company sold its holdings in Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP (XRP), and Dogecoin (DOGE) for approximately 878.8 million yen ($5.5 million). The sales resulted in a net gain of 117.8 million yen ($736,000).
Remixpoint's decision to exit altcoins was based on its assessment of market conditions and the risk-return characteristics of those assets. By focusing solely on Bitcoin, the company aims to clarify its investment strategy and improve capital efficiency. Prior to the sale, Remixpoint held around 901 ETH, 13,920 SOL, 1.19 million XRP, and 2.8 million DOGE.
The company now retains approximately 1,506 BTC worth about $115 million based on the disclosure's figures. In addition to selling altcoins, Remixpoint also reported earning 14.92 BTC from lending between February 24th and August 31st, valued at 164.2 million yen ($1 million). This suggests that the company is actively managing its remaining Bitcoin exposure.
