JioCoin: The Misleading Crypto That Isn't
The JioCoin token has been making headlines for years, but its status remains unclear. Despite numerous reports and articles claiming it's available for purchase or trade, JioCoin is not listed on any cryptocurrency exchange and can't be bought publicly.
In reality, JioCoin exists only as a limited, non-tradable reward token within the Reliance Jio apps JioSphere and Messages. Users can earn it by browsing with JioSphere or setting Messages as their default messaging app, but they can't transfer, sell, or trade it.
The token's value is set entirely by Reliance's internal policies, making it similar to airline miles or credit-card reward points rather than a tradable cryptocurrency. While it uses blockchain infrastructure, JioCoin lacks the features that make a token 'tradable' in the classical sense.
