JPMorgan's Dimon Exposed as Private Bitcoin Supporter
MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor has sparked controversy by claiming that JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon privately supports Bitcoin, despite his public criticism of the asset. According to Saylor, Dimon's public statements are driven by professional necessity rather than genuine disdain for Bitcoin.
JPMorgan has indeed made significant investments in digital assets, including a $400 million purchase of the iShares Bitcoin ETF (IBIT.US) in the second quarter of 2025. The bank also allows institutional clients to use Bitcoin as collateral for loans, with custody provided by a third-party firm.
Saylor emphasized that MicroStrategy does not aim to transform into a traditional bank; instead, it seeks to build a financial-system hub centered on Bitcoin, developing investment products similar to JPMorgan's role on Wall Street. He also firmly believes that the U.S. dollar's status is unshakable and that Bitcoin, alongside artificial intelligence, stands as one of the defining technologies of this century.
MicroStrategy currently holds approximately 846,000 Bitcoins, accounting for 4% of the global total, cementing its status as the largest corporate Bitcoin investor. JPMorgan's actual business moves reveal a deep involvement in crypto assets, but its public narrative remains critical of Bitcoin.
